This is a temporary position for a Network Engineer with extensive experience in designing and implementing complex networking solutions. The role requires a strong background in network automation, particularly using tools such as Ansible, Python, and Terraform. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of network automation projects and contributing to the overall architectural discussions around network automation infrastructure and tools.

  • Support successful implementation of network automation projects as an individual contributor or member of a project team.
  • Provide technical input to architectural and operational discussions around network automation infrastructure and tools.
  • Act as a network developer to create innovative solutions and write Python and Ansible code daily.
  • Participate in Agile scrum practices to deliver products on time.
  • Conduct research, design, and implementation of network infrastructure automation solutions.
  • Create and document project documentation focusing on technical features and functions of solutions.
  • Work closely with department leadership and service providers to align plans with solution delivery.
  • Participate in and suggest improvements to standards configuration and change management processes.
  • Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects and tasks.
  • Function as a strategic senior technical expert within the department.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Provide direction and assistance to other teams regarding projects.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Review vendor proposals and select appropriate vendors for services/technologies/hardware.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports and presentations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field experience/certification.
  • 7+ years' experience as a Network Engineer with designing and implementing complex networking.
  • 6+ years of experience with automating network functions using tools such as Ansible, Python, Terraform.
  • 4+ years of experience with administration of Ansible Automation platform to support network automation.
  • 3+ years of experience in building network test and deployment automation pipelines using Git and CI/CD tools.
  • 2+ years' experience as part of a network operations team.
  • Certification in network and/or security technologies (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, CISSP, Cisco DevNet).
  • Expertise in developing Ansible automations to manage network devices.
  • Experience working in DevOps and Test-driven culture.
  • Knowledge of Python web development to create custom network management tools.
  • Experience with writing Infrastructure as Code for Cloud network components.
  • Experience with writing automations for compliance management and configuration management.
  • Experience in network automation software, libraries, and tools.
  • Experience managing AAP (Ansible Automation Platform) admin functions.
  • Knowledge of Load Balancers and managing Linux platforms.
  • Experience working in a Scrum team or other Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering written documents detailing network solutions and diagrams.
