  • Provides a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public areas.
  • Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Verbally intervenes during crisis situations.
  • Physically intervenes during crises, including the ability to restrain individuals safely.
  • Escorts persons and assists client personnel.
  • Maintains vigilance for activities that could result in injury or property damage.
  • Writes accurate, clear, and legible reports.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers and client staff.
  • Enforces and abides by all policies and guidelines of the client and HSS.
  • Safely handles and maintains firearm according to company guidelines.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Prefer college degree in criminal justice or security discipline or successful completion of police academy.
  • Experience in Military Police, Correctional Officer, or Law Enforcement preferred.
  • Previous experience working with the public in a service setting preferred.
  • IAHSS Basic Officer, Advanced Officer and Supervisor Certifications preferred or must be completed within 1 year.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable jurisdictional security licenses or certifications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving guidelines.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse people.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, and email.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • TASER qualifications including ability to meet qualification standards and participate in additional training.
