B&I Contractors, Inc., a proud four-time winner of the Great Place to Work certification, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Fleet Yard Warehouse Assistant to join our dynamic and expanding team. The Fleet Yard Assistant will report to the Assistant Warehouse Manager and will be responsible for assisting with spare fleet and yard operations. Daily duties include but are not limited to; vehicle inspections, vehicle cleaning, transportation of company vehicles as needed and assisting in yard operations.

  • Perform daily inventory of spare fleet vehicles. Ensuring vehicles are ready to be assigned as needed.
  • Perform Vehicle inspections for inbound and outbound vehicles. Documenting maintenance and repair needs. Cleaning as necessary.
  • Assist in up fitting of incoming vehicles and retirement of vehicles being cycled out. Delivering vehicles as needed to offices in other regions, auto shops etc.
  • Assist as needed in the daily operations of the Warehouse and yard.
  • Assist in staging and packing equipment for upcoming jobs by priority.
  • Asist in keeping the yard organized and reorganizing as necessary to accommodate new material.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of delivery trucks.
  • Asist in the loading of Semitrailers for deliveries.
  • Report all warehouse protocol and fleet violations to manager immediately.
  • Report any building maintenance or building safety concerns to site manager immediately.
  • Cross train in all aspects of warehouse to qualify as a backup as needed.
  • Some delivery driving may be required.
  • Assist in light building maintenance as needed.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Must possess one year of warehouse experience in the coordination and organization of inventoried materials preferably in a commercial construction setting.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
