Under the general direction of the supervisory staff of the Fleet Maintenance Department, Fleet Technicians will diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul mechanical, electrical and physical problems and other related damage to equipment and vehicles such as, but not limited to, lawnmowers, garden tractors, weed trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, water pumps, generators and other equipment as indicated on work orders or discovered during inspection. Fleet Technicians may have to work outside in all kinds of weather. The Fleet Technician must possess knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance as well as have knowledge of principles and processes for providing personal services to ensure District needs, assessments, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of District satisfaction and will focus on a variety of tasks related to preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles utilized by the District. This is a full-time union position.
