Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering. #LI-KC1 #Mechanic #warehouse The Fleet Technician supports BV Fleet Operations by performing basic planned maintenance, conducting vehicle and equipment inspections, and managing the check-in and check-out of fleet equipment. This position focuses on maintaining equipment readiness, documenting asset condition, and supporting safe, reliable deployment of equipment to construction projects. The Fleet Technician works closely with senior fleet technicians and equipment managers to minimize downtime and ensure accurate fleet records.

Requirements

  • Developing knowledge of industrial construction equipment, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Unristristriced drivers license and clean MVR.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Automotive or diesel certification or degree preferred
  • Previous experience working with construction or heavy equipment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and inspection practices.
  • Ability to use mobile devices and digital inspection or maintenance tracking tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures.
  • Ability to work in yard, shop, and jobsite environments under varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic planned maintenance activities including fluid checks, greasing, filter inspection, and visual safety inspections in accordance with fleet standards.
  • Conduct equipment check-in and check-out processing at fleet yards, maintenance facilities, and project sites.
  • Complete visual inspections of equipment upon receipt and return, documenting condition, damage, and completeness.
  • Capture inspection photos and maintenance observations in approved fleet and equipment management systems.
  • Prepare fleet equipment for scheduled preventative maintenance by cleaning, staging, and identifying service needs.
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety issues to fleet technicians, supervisors or equipment managers for corrective action.
  • Ensure equipment is clean, properly labeled, and prepared for transport or redeployment.
  • Support equipment demobilization, return, and reconciliation activities.
  • Verify equipment serial numbers, attachments, and accessories against dispatch and return documentation.
  • Maintain accurate equipment status and condition records to support utilization and maintenance planning.
  • Follow all fleet safety, compliance, and operational procedures while working in yards and active jobsites.
