About The Position

The Project Engineer for the Fleet Systems Engineering team works under the Design Engineering function of the GE Vernova Hitachi (GVH) Engineering organization. The Fleet Systems Engineering team is responsible for performing evaluations and analyses on safety related Nuclear Steam Supply Systems to ensure performance and regulatory compliance. The Fleet Systems Engineering team has strong interfaces with hardware design, containment, reactor thermal hydraulics, chemistry systems as well as responsible for emergent customer issue resolutions. This role requires work planning and work oversight, technical problem solving and communication / collaboration with other teams within the GVH and GNF business functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a technology or engineering role

Responsibilities

  • Engage team to identify task dependencies and task status to ensure projects schedules remain aligned to the required work scope to correctly predict outcomes.
  • Work with project managers and project schedulers to develop and maintain good project schedules
  • Work with Tech Leaders and Leadership to ensure the project schedule is consistent with the work plan.
  • Resolve conflict and ambiguity between team and adjacencies.
  • Work with engineering leadership and personnel to assure compliance to procedures, standards and regulatory criteria.
  • Establish best practices and or leverage best practices within the team.
  • Communicate effectively the status of engineering and project priorities to the team, stakeholders and management.
  • Meet customer commitments and drive continuous improvement.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Foster integrity, safety, and quality as the most important priorities.
  • Inspire team and support a positive and safety conscious work environment.
