About The Position

The NYC Department of Buildings, Fleet Management team is seeking a Fleet Supervisor to report to the Deputy Director of Fleet and Equipment. The selected candidate will assign, train, and supervise Fleet Liaisons; oversee approximately 350 agency vehicles; serve as DMV liaison by preparing necessary paperwork for vehicle registration; manage and oversee vehicle service schedules to ensure preventative maintenance and NYS inspections are performed in accordance with DCAS’ NYC Fleet Management Manual. The Supervisor will serve as chief liaison for both external and internal stakeholders such as DCAS Fleet, Department of Finance’s Violation Bureau, DOT (E-Permits), Office of Risk Management & Audit Compliance, and the Office of Internal Affairs & Discipline (IAD.) The supervisor will highlight alleged vehicle misconduct, perform preliminary analysis and make referrals to the said units/agencies. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing existing and proposed fleet procedures; auditing agency E-ZPass usage; performing fleet training for agency drivers; and managing the agency’s fleet budget. Employee will be required to perform field work and may be required to visit vehicle accident sites.

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in one or more of the fields of criminal justice administration and planning, forensic science, human resources, labor relations, auditing, building inspection, or legal affairs; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2” above
  • The selected candidate should possess excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communications skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office.
