Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver license.
  • Automotive Standard of Excellence (ASE) and Department of Transportation (DOT) vehicle inspection certification preferred.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a commercial driver license (CDL).

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Mechanic Shop team to repair and maintain the Blain's fleet of vehicles and powered equipment.
  • Maintain, repair, and service semi tractors and trailers, cars, pick-up trucks, gas and electric forklifts, floor scrubbers, and a variety of industrial powered equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair automotive and diesel problems.
  • Perform oil changes, repair & replace brakes, install replacement engines, overhaul engines, complete welding fabrication (plasma, mig, ARC), and tire changes and repairs.
  • Perform DOT inspections where applicable.
  • Repair and maintain hydraulics and ignitions.
  • Complete trailer maintenance such as brakes, wiring, body work, wheel bearings, tire changes, fix flooring, lubricate doors, touch-up paint and fiberglass repair.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area, including trash removal and scrubbing shop floor.
  • Utilize parts, diagnostic, and service manuals to ensure accuracy in performance of work.
  • Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and/or procedures.
