Transport Refrigeration Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Shop Manager / Service Manager to lead service associates and oversee daily shop operations on night shift. Requirements

  • Prior leadership experience in a shop, service, or fleet environment
  • Background as a Truck Technician, Service Manager, or Operations Manager
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
  • High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training preferred)
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Brake Certification or ASE Brakes (T4)
  • EPA 609 Mobile A/C Certification
  • Experience with OEM software (Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Freightliner, Navistar)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screen
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs regularly and 60 lbs occasionally
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and shop-floor activity
  • Ability to work extended hours when business needs require

Responsibilities

  • Manage all service associates and shop operations
  • Schedule and prioritize shop workflow to meet customer needs
  • Monitor technician productivity and standard repair times
  • Build strong customer relationships and ensure quality service
  • Train, coach, and certify technicians (PMs, DOTs, safety, OEM procedures)
  • Lead weekly shop and safety meetings
  • Conduct weekly and monthly audits (PMs, DOTs, facility, safety)
  • Ensure shop, yard, vehicles, and equipment are clean, safe, and well-maintained
  • Oversee associate training, certifications, and performance reviews
  • Maintain confidentiality and support cross-functional coverage as needed
  • Promote a positive, high-performance team culture
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
