About The Position

Responsible for management of vendors regarding outsourced work to tractors and trailers; ensure proper maintenance records and warranty requirements to OEM’s; track outside repairs and convey equipment status updates to all affected departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years transportation, safety, maintenance, or related experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Good verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, and public.
  • Must be a self-starter and motivated.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and willingness to help in a variety of situations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with vendors to track repair status and reduce down-time
  • Ensure that all Maintenance and Operations personnel are informed on the status of downed equipment.
  • Assist Safety and Operations with any accident or damage related incidents requiring vendor support.
  • Provide feedback to fleet leaders concerning equipment failures and OEM requirements.
  • Perform vendor audits to ensure compliance with company guidelines.
  • Track scheduled services when performed outside of company shops.
  • Manage outsourced repairs from initiation to completion with accurate data entry and notes.
  • Work with shop leaders to coordinate equipment moves and vendor repairs when local outsourcing is needed.
  • Assist leadership with reporting and information to be distributed to the Fleet Services team.
  • Vet and source new or replacement vendors to support operational markets when necessary.
  • Review equipment bulletins and industry trends to stay up to date on technical knowledge.
  • Maintain knowledge of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) warranty coverage and file claims when necessary.
  • Maintain relationships with national account representatives that support Fleet Services.
  • Provide parts sourcing support to shop managers from vendors when needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
