At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture.SummaryThe Fleet Regulatory Compliance Specialist supports DOT and FMCSA compliance across assigned transportation operations, helping ensure drivers and vehicles meet regulatory requirements and remain audit-ready. This role manages key elements of the driver qualification and vehicle compliance process within a large, multi-state fleet operation, applying regulatory standards with accuracy and sound judgment. Working closely with operations, safety, legal, and HR partners, the specialist contributes to the consistency and integrity of a nationwide transportation network supporting thousands of drivers across the U.S.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety
  • High School diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge or experience with IRP or IFTA compliance is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage driver qualification compliance for assigned operations, ensuring Driver Qualification Files remain complete and audit-ready
  • Review and validate driver licenses, medical certificates, MVRs, and required training documentation
  • Apply DOT and FMCSA regulations to guide routine compliance decisions and identify qualification gaps
  • Administer DOT drug and alcohol program documentation, including FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements
  • Partner with operations and safety teams to ensure medically or otherwise unqualified drivers are appropriately removed from service
  • Coordinate vehicle registration and permitting activities, including IRP, IFTA, UCR, and operating authority filings
  • Monitor compliance reports and communicate exceptions to appropriate leaders for follow-up
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support audits, monitoring activities, and post-crash record retention
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Safety, Legal, HR, and field leadership to ensure consistent execution of compliance processes
