As Lead Fleet Maintenance, you will ensure the performance, safety, and readiness of Vay’s teleoperated vehicles and systems in Las Vegas, overseeing maintenance across both hardware and software. You will lead a team of technicians while collaborating with engineering, operations, and international production teams to maintain high standards of quality and compliance. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to shape maintenance operations and contribute to cutting-edge teleoperation technology in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fleet maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, or similar roles in the automotive or transportation industry.
  • Strong coordination skills with experience managing and coordinating teams of technicians
  • Solid understanding of hardware and software systems used in vehicles, preferably in the teleoperation or autonomous driving domain.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices in fleet management.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to handle dynamic assignments, including flexible schedules
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate across teams and stakeholders in different locations.
  • A passion for innovation and an eagerness to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute regular and extraordinary inspections, maintenance, and repairs for vehicles and Teledrive Stations to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Address diagnostic challenges for both hardware and software systems across the Vay fleet.
  • Manage and oversee all vehicle bodyshop repair processes, ensuring quality and timely return of assets to the fleet.
  • Coordinate all OEM servicing and maintenance activities for the vehicle fleet.
  • Partner with the Commercial Operations team to ensure all vehicles and Teledrive Stations are always in a “ready” state for testing, demonstrations, and commercial use.
  • Coordinate team of repair technicians and support engineers, including on-demand contractors.
  • Develop and monitor team efficiency and performance, ensuring all work aligns with Vay’s safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain adherence to all industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance workflows, efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure the workshop is maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, tidiness, and cleanliness.
  • Prepare and present weekly KPI reports to GM Cities, highlighting fleet readiness, maintenance efficiency, and areas of improvement
