About The Position

JEFF WYLER COLUMBUS AUTO MALL is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Parts Specialist to join our fleet division. A fleet parts counterperson manages inventory and supplies parts to internal technicians and external customers to support fleet maintenance. Key duties include sourcing parts via catalog software, managing stock levels, processing warranty claims, and providing technical support to mechanics. They are responsible for ordering, receiving, and issuing parts while maintaining accurate inventory records, frequently requiring knowledge of heavy-duty trucks or specialized equipment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a parts department (dealership or fleet) is preferred.
Strong understanding of automotive or heavy-duty truck parts.
Proficiency with parts cataloging systems and computer software.
Excellent verbal and communication skills for dealing with vendors and technicians.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical inventory tasks.
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing, including a background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Parts Sourcing & Issuing: Identify and locate necessary parts for repairs, utilizing electronic catalogs to order or looking up components for technicians and customers.
Inventory Control: Stock, organize, and conduct inventory audits to ensure accuracy. Receive, check, and shelve incoming inventory.
Customer Service: Assist service technicians and, if applicable, outside customers with parts needs, providing technical advice on parts compatibility.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of transactions, including charging out parts to specific service orders.
Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse/counter area.
