About The Position

Position Overview: The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the repair, maintenance and overhaul of fleet diesel and non-diesel equipment, ensuring all fleet vehicles are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of heavy-duty equipment repair/maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of light-duty equipment repair/maintenance.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to handle, or carry; reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb, balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is regularly required to lift 5lbs and greater.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift up to 80lbs.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to safely work outside and tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material.
  • The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic performing daily tasks.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • ASE Certifications

  • Commercial Driver’s License (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair fleet diesel/non-diesel equipment (Tractors, Trailers, Refrigeration Units).
  • Tracks and completes preventative maintenance of fleet diesel/non-diesel equipment.
  • Makes recommendations as to fleet equipment needs.
  • Completes documentation for work orders of repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Reviews vehicle inspection forms daily for any malfunctions/defective equipment.
  • Diagnoses and repairs roadside breakdowns and maintenance in a safe efficient manner.
  • Ensures all equipment has required registration information before being deemed road worthy.
  • Performs final operational test on all vehicles to check the quality and safety of repairs.
  • Checks for vehicle damage on a daily basis.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Complies with all Quality Beverage safety policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
