About The Position

The Fleet Mechanic’s primary function is to provide maintenance and repairs to all company vehicles and equipment. Vehicles include gasoline engines, electric pallet jacks and forklifts.

Requirements

• Two to four years of experience in fleet operations
• Must be a self-starter, dependable, safety minded, detail oriented and organized with processes and paperwork
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis from ground level and overhead.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, lift and perform physical labor for multiple hours at a time
• Ability to operate and maneuver a pallet jack with a weight load of approximately 2500 lbs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with sound customer service skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some daily overtime, holidays, evenings and weekends
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record are required
• Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Class A CDL required
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical if the candidate is a CDL driver

Responsibilities

• Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems
• Conduct preventative maintenance, as scheduled, on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles
• Repair and install major components
• Service & repair brakes
• Repair & replace tires
• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned
