This position is responsible for performing frame-up restorations on tractors and straight trucks, as well as skilled maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and fleet equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with DOT and OSHA standards. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting routine inspections, and completing preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of vehicle/equipment repair methods, materials, tools, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and executing mechanical repairs using various tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stress management skills.
  • Basic mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in vehicle/equipment repair and maintenance; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Frequent standing, walking, verbal communication, hearing, reaching, grasping, handling, and finger use.
  • Regular stooping, crouching, kneeling, climbing, carrying, and lifting to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous alertness and ability to perform essential duties safely and reliably.
  • Visual requirements include near and far vision, and depth perception.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical components, outdoor environments, and vibrations.
  • Moderate noise conditions.
  • Successful completion of substance abuse screening is required.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL A license, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain company vehicles and fleet equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Provide exceptional service and foster positive attitude.
  • Diagnose, repair, and rebuild vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and preventive maintenance routines.
  • Sustain accurate records, reports, and organized workspaces.
  • Coordinate with external service vendors.
  • Retain all necessary DOT certifications and comply fully with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Exhibit reliable attendance and consistently prioritize safety.
