Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
For insurability purposes a valid driver's license is required.
Two (2) years diesel mechanic experience required.
Must have own tools.

Nice To Haves

Vocational or technical school diploma or certification preferred.
Ability to weld and fabricate preferred.
Class A CDL with tanker strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform DOT Inspections on light and heavy duty over-the-road trucks and trailers
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on vehicles and equipment.
Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension, transmission, and brake troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment.
Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear.
