About The Position

COMPETENCIES: · Ethical Conduct. · Discretion. · Problem Solving/Analysis. · Technical Capacity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of all equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during preventive service. · Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines. · Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions, clutches, suspension, steering, fuel, ignition (gas & diesel), electrical systems, brakes, HVAC systems, etc. · Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. · Follow paperwork flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, save & tag all warranty and core parts, document all repairs on work orders, parts ordering & maintenance schedules. · Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on all vehicles & equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and the life of the unit. · Comply with OSHA safety and health rules. · Daily clean-up of work area. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of engines and controls
  • Knowledge of transmissions and controls
  • Knowledge of brakes and suspensions
  • Knowledge of hydraulics
  • Knowledge of the various vehicles and equipment such as tractor trailers, boom truck & trailers
  • Skilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipment
  • Skilled in welding and cutting
  • Skilled in inspections & DOT inspections/compliance
  • 2+ years of related mechanic experience & training repairing/maintain heavy duty equipment
  • Current valid driver’s license (CDL-A a plus)
