Keep our fleet moving. Keep our city running. Are you a diagnostic wizard with a passion for precision? We are looking for an Equipment Mechanic I to perform intermediate technical work across a diverse fleet—from standard SUVs and marine apparatus to specialized fire equipment. If you’re ready to apply your technical skills in a high-impact environment, we want to hear from you. The ideal candidate will be able to perform maintenance/repairs on light duty vehicles (passenger cars, pickup trucks, SUV's, van, mini-busses, etc.) to include: replacing air, hydraulic and anti-lock brakes, repairing transmissions; repairing light duty gas and diesel engines, working on electrical systems, repairing heating and cooling systems, and repairing steering and suspension systems. They will also be able to perform repairs on ancillary equipment typical of municipal fleets including: lifts, light bars and lighting accessories. They should have experience troubleshooting and have experience with newer computerized diagnostic programs. A desire to learn/train on heavier duty systems and fire trucks is strongly desired. Under the limited supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, you will part of our garage team, whom ensures every vehicle is safe and road-ready.
