Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One-year technical certificate or five years of relevant experience in transportation equipment maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL permit within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid CDL-A or CDL-B and Medical Examiner’s Certificate required before operating a commercial vehicle.
  • Must have or be able to obtain the following within 3 months of hire: EPA Section 608 Type II Certification EPA Section 609 MVAC Certification FMCSA Brake Inspector Certification (Part 396.25) FMCSA Annual Inspector Certification (Part 396.19) Forklift and/or pallet jack certification (provided by company).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with transport refrigeration systems preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections and services on all fleet equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronic systems including electrical, drivetrain, air and brake systems, suspension, and tires.
  • Troubleshoot and service computerized powertrain components and vehicle electronics.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain fleet tires and ensure all equipment meets performance and safety standards.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain and utilize personal tools necessary to perform job duties.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
