About The Position
Solar Transport is seeking a dedicated Fleet Manager to oversee and manage all day-to-day driver and service-related activities for assigned geographical and terminal driver locations. This role is crucial in ensuring that all driver needs are met, focusing on on-time performance, error-free service, and overall driver satisfaction. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for daily planning and dispatching of customer orders, ensuring that all orders are dispatched in a timely manner and that requested delivery windows are met. This position requires strong communication skills and a passion for customer service, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment. In this role, the Fleet Manager will manage day-to-day issues related to service, equipment management in conjunction with the Region Manager, and driver-related concerns. The Fleet Manager will also address service deviations and work closely with the Central Planning Operations Manager and Senior Fleet Manager to analyze and provide solutions for chronic operational problems. This includes performance to customer expectations, efficiency concerns, and driver performance metrics. The ability to navigate Solar's TMW dispatching software and manage multiple screens for email, customer websites, and dispatching software is essential for success in this position. The Fleet Manager will be expected to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, to ensure that all operational needs are met. This position is not only about managing logistics but also about fostering a positive work environment for drivers and ensuring that they have the support they need to perform their jobs effectively.
