Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in maintenance of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks for Fleet Mechanic Trainee.
  • Two years of experience for Fleet Mechanic I.
  • Three years of experience for Fleet Mechanic II.
  • Four years of experience for Fleet Mechanic III.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a Class 'A or B' Commercial Driver's License within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional vocational/technical training or ASE certification is desirable.
  • Experience working with CNG vehicles is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lubricates vehicles according to instructions.
  • Checks and adds fluid levels as required.
  • Performs general repairs such as replacing radiators, water pumps, brakes, belts, and wipers.
  • Conducts scheduled maintenance on engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Performs tire repair and replacement.
  • Carries out preventive maintenance on fleet assets at various locations.
  • Assists mechanics with fleet asset repairs as needed.
  • Maintains and repairs tools and equipment.
  • Cleans the garage area and assists with general maintenance tasks.
  • Picks up and delivers parts to fleet vehicles in the field.
