We have an opportunity for you to join the team as a Fleet Maintenance Technician! The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and should be passionate about working with heavy equipment to ensure their safe and efficient operation. This role is responsible for supplying their own tools. The Fleet Maintenance Technician will work Monday – Friday. “A day in the life of a Fleet Maintenance Technician looks like:” · Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance and repair mechanical and electrical issues in heavy diesel equipment. · Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company owned equipment including but not limited to forklifts, pallet Jacks, warehouse equipment, pallet wrappers, conveyors, air compressors, etc. to manufacturers specifications and ensures the equipment is in safe operating condition. · Tracks, schedules, and performs all manufacturer recalls and repairs. · Provides monthly reports detailing repairs and labor expense associated with each company owned equipment to the Division Operations Manager at each location. · Document all maintenance and repair work in detailed service reports. · Makes recommendations for vehicle and equipment replacements. · Assists with auto collision insurance claims on company owned vehicles. · Communicates relevant information to the Service Manager including needs for repairs and parts. · Comply with safety standards and procedures at all times. · Keep up to date with industry developments and continuously improve your knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED
- Proven experience as a heavy diesel mechanic with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Solid welding and fabrication skills
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Possess Class A CDL or the ability to obtain a Class A CDL.
Nice To Haves
- Formal technical education or vocational training in heavy diesel mechanics is preferred.
Responsibilities
