MTM Transit, in partnership with Capital Metro, is looking for a Fleet Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to join our team in North Austin.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Automotive courses from automotive institute preferred.
  • 2+ years automotive mechanical experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a continuously valid US driver's license for 3 years.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • No DUI or DWI convictions.
  • No more than 1 suspension, moving violation, or citation within the last 3 years - no more than 2 within past 5 years.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
  • Experience using hand and power tools, machinery, sophisticated test and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repair.
  • Must have proper required small hand, pneumatic or electric tools.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certifications preferred.
  • 609 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled vehicle maintenance repairs and service to satisfy compliance with vehicle warranties.
  • Assist with maintaining Company or Client fleet as required.
  • Perform maintenance, service, basic diagnostics, & repair of MTM Transit and Capitol Metro Owned vehicles.
  • Areas of repair include automotive vehicles, light duty trucks, powertrains, undercarriage/chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, and vehicle accessories.
  • Diagnose drivability issues and wheelchair lift functionality.
  • Perform on the road repairs (Road Calls) as needed.
  • Ensure all data is collected in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Communicate the status of repairs and parts needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
