Fleet Maintenance Mechanic Position Overview Skilled position performing scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment and vehicles including forklifts (electric and LP), aerial lifts, personnel carriers, and automobiles/trucks. Diagnoses, disassembles, and overhauls electrical systems, motors, drive systems, rear ends, brakes, and assemblies with high degree of independence. Personal tools not required.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age (21+ if CDL required)
  • Pass drug test and background check
  • Pass validated selection test
  • Ability to perform physical movements including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and object manipulation
  • Forklift repair experience (propane fuel systems, hydraulic systems, palette jacks)
  • Mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment
  • Experience with hydraulic and brake systems
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance programs

Nice To Haves

  • Computer instrumentation experience (desktop, hand-held, laptop computers for diagnostics and work orders)
  • Manufacturing standards knowledge and current technology awareness
  • Class A or B CDL with truck driving experience
  • Heavy truck repair experience (tractor-trailers, brakes, tires, engines)
  • Light truck repair experience (trucks, vans, support vehicles)
  • Internal combustible/diesel engine knowledge
  • Automated/autonomous mobile equipment experience

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts
  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on fleet vehicles
  • Maintain and repair fleet equipment per established procedures
  • Answer service calls promptly and effectively
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records and documentation
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and daily checklists
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain inspection records
  • Follow preventive maintenance programs and safety protocols
  • Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards
  • Maintain organized and safe work environment
