The Role: As a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic II, you will play a key role in ensuring our fleet operates safely and efficiently. You’ll take on advanced diagnostics and repairs, work closely with vendors on complex maintenance needs, and help minimize downtime across operations.

Requirements

  • Experience in fleet maintenance, preferably with commercial trucks and tankers.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certificate or associate degree in automotive technology preferred.
  • 3+ years of fleet or vehicle maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License required, CDL preferred with a clean MVR and no preventable accident history.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Complete preventive maintenance including oil changes, brakes, tires, and fluid checks
  • Troubleshoot and repair engine, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Coordinate complex repairs with outside vendors and ensure quality of work
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in company systems
  • Communicate vehicle status and repair timelines with internal teams
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
