About The Position

Responsible for assisting the Fleet Mechanic with a wide variety of maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on various makes and models of trailers in an efficient, timely, accurate, professional, and safe manner in accordance with all Company policies, DOT, OSHA, FMCSA and other regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age. If duties include driving commercial motor vehicles (CMV), minimum 25 years of age.
• Must present a professional, highly motivated, positive, results-oriented, problem solving attitude; position requires good communication skills; must speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• High School diploma or equivalent, and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must demonstrate at least an aptitude in the safe handling and operation of trailers and truck tractors.
• Ability to work weekends and on-call response as needed, at times to off-site locations for road calls/repairs.
