About The Position

Pyka is looking for a Fleet Maintenance Manager to support the development and commercial deployments of its advanced autonomous aircraft. In this role you will take an active role in the development and execution of Pyka’s maintenance program for fleet of deployed autonomous aircraft both in the U.S. and Latin America You will lead a team of maintenance technicians around the world focused on keeping Pyka’s autonomous aircrafts operating for our customers. You will be responsible for hiring and training new maintenance technicians. You will work closely with engineering and other operations to plan and execute fleet wide retrofits. In addition to assisting customer support operations abroad, you will develop and manage maintenance manual updates. Your work will directly inform engineering decisions on iterations on Pyka’s aircraft design.

  • Proven Leadership: Experience managing technical teams, ideally in a fast-paced environment (1-3 years).
  • Technical Depth: Hands-on expertise with complex systems (3-8 years) (aviation, electric, or autonomous systems preferred).
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop fleet-level tracking systems and manage complex technical documentation.
  • Global Mindset: Comfortable coordinating operations across different time zones and traveling internationally to support our customers.
  • Communication Excellence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Mindset: Extreme attention to detail and a critical-thinking approach to problem-solving.
  • Professional Certification: FAA A&P certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build & Lead: Recruit, train, and grow a high performing team of technicians across domestic and international locations.
  • Scale the Program: Develop and adapt our maintenance programs to meet the needs of a rapidly scaling fleet.
  • Operational Excellence: Plan and coordinate fleet-wide retrofits and regular maintenance schedules to ensure mission readiness.
  • Technical Oversight: Perform inspections and test subsystems to verify aircraft performance ahead of flight campaigns.
  • Drive Innovation: Use your hands-on experience to provide feedback to engineering, helping us build more serviceable and reliable aircraft.
