About The Position

The Fleet & Facility Manager at US Foods, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and safety of associates involved in fleet and facility maintenance. This role includes managing maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining effective communication with both internal teams and external vendors. The manager will also be involved in staff selection, development, and performance management, while fostering a culture of safety and efficiency within the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience.
  • Working knowledge of ammonia and Freon systems.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and governing bodies.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and governmental regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Possession of a valid state Driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate, licenses, and registrations in refrigeration/HVAC preferred.
  • Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification preferred.
  • Powered Industrial Equipment Certification preferred.
  • Certificate in fleet trade/mechanic preferred.
  • State Inspections License preferred.
  • Class A or B commercial driver license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily work and safety of associates engaged in fleet, building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, power industrial equipment, and security maintenance.
  • Manage, assign, and monitor facility projects for quality and timely completion.
  • Train associates on preferred work methods (PMWs) and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Perform management functions including staff selection, development, discipline, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain associate relations through regular meetings and open communication.
  • Develop business relationships with third-party vendors for efficient operations.
  • Manage purchasing, warranties, capital improvement requests, and parts department inventory levels.
  • Ensure all vehicles are in proper working condition and oversee maintenance on company-owned equipment.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and conduct audits for required inspections and documentation.
  • Coordinate emergency response or crisis management activities.
