About The Position
As a Fleet Dispatcher at U.S. Xpress, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our drivers receive the necessary support during evening and weekend hours. This position is essential for maintaining the flow of operations and ensuring that loads are delivered safely and on time. You will be responsible for answering incoming phone calls, live chats, and emails to assist drivers with various issues, including delays, service problems, trailers, payroll, and any other needs they may have. Your role will involve fueling and routing drivers while promoting their safety, as well as dispatching necessary resources such as drivers, trucks, and trailers to address immediate issues. In addition to providing support, you will monitor loads and resolve any issues that may affect scheduled delivery or pickup times. Proactive communication with customer accounts and customers regarding changes is vital. You will also be tasked with resolving load targets to ensure on-time delivery and maintaining effective communication with customers, operations, drivers, and all levels of leadership. Your ability to respond to drivers and terminal needs, especially in emergency situations, will be critical. Understanding and supporting company policies is essential, as is keeping drivers rolling safely by ensuring accurate PTAs, providing trailer solutions, planning BPMs and required appointments, and managing home time guidelines. This position requires a self-motivated individual who is detail-oriented and possesses strong problem-solving skills. You will be expected to work in high-pressure situations and assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
