As a key leader of the Strategic Operations Team, the Fleet Director will lead Artera and its operating companies Fleet Operations. Reporting directly to the VP of Procurement and Operations, the Fleet Director will play a critical role in assessing current state, identifying pain points, and providing remediation plans. We are looking for a hands-on analytical leader that is highly skilled at negotiations, optimizing fleet utilization and capacity, has financial acumen, and possesses experience centralizing a fleet function for a business.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fleet management strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Optimize fleet operations to ensure cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Assess and recommend fleet technologies and innovations to improve overall performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Implement and monitor safety programs to promote a culture of safety within the fleet.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to stay informed about changes in compliance standards.
  • Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of fleet assets.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize the lifespan of vehicles and equipment.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers and service providers for fleet maintenance and repairs.
  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and budget adherence.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize fleet expenses.
  • Analyze financial data to make informed decisions regarding fleet investments and operations.
  • Comfortable working with large raw data sets and can pivot to draw analysis and understand impact to the business.
  • Take insights to inform on strategic decision-making processes.
  • Build and lead a high-performing fleet management team.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior fleet management leadership role within the Natural Gas or Utilities industry.
  • 2+ years of experience working with fleet management software, preferably led an implementation process.
  • Change Management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of fleet management best practices and industry trends.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with vehicle technologies and innovations in the fleet industry.
  • Master's degree preferred.
