About The Position

The Fleet and Facility Maintenance Director at Sysco is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and overall appearance of the facility and fleet operations. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety and government regulations, and maintaining effective communication with third-party vendors. The director will also be responsible for budget management, emergency response coordination, and the implementation of preventative maintenance schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 7 years maintenance management experience required.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage.
  • Complete a Sysco approved defensive driving program.
  • Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification required.
  • HAZWOPER 24 hrs Training required.
  • Incident Commander Training required, or obtains within 12 months.
  • Certificate, licenses and registrations in refrigeration required.
  • Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and braking systems preferred.
  • Certificate in fleet trade/mechanic preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the daily work and safety of associates engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, fleet maintenance, and repair.
  • Advises on labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
  • Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
  • Coordinates emergency response or crisis management activities.
  • Conducts the proper selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of Company assets.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure efficient upgrades and repairs.
  • Maintains current certificate of insurance and hold harmless agreements for all contracted vendors.
  • Prepares budget, profit plans, and capital requests as required.
  • Evaluates metrics and adjusts activities to meet or exceed performance expectations.
  • Establishes preventative maintenance schedules for all systems and equipment.
  • Handles priorities, assigns and monitors fleet and facility projects for quality and timely completion.
  • Utilizes maintenance tracking software for task management.
  • Administers audits ensuring all required inspections and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Preserves associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings.
  • Monitors associate morale and keeps open communication channels with associates.
  • Coordinates efforts with the Safety department for training and safety inspections.
  • Executes management functions of staff selection, development, and performance reviews.
