As a Supervisor of Operations at Freeman, you will lead and support a dynamic operations team, focusing on minimizing job costs while ensuring high-quality service and safety standards. This role involves professional interaction with customers, team members, and vendors, and supports the Event & Exhibit Services team with a hybrid work schedule based in Chicago, IL.

  • Lead and supervise team members, ensuring adherence to company policies and laws.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Train team members, appraise performance, and implement reward and discipline systems.
  • Participate in hiring and firing decisions.
  • Plan, organize, and direct Operations Department activities to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with account executives to meet their needs.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Suggest changes to increase efficiency.
  • Maintain time and production reports, estimate and requisition materials, and coordinate activities with other supervisors.
  • Manage budgets for facilities maintenance projects and control operating and capital budgets for building and premises repairs.
  • Oversee facility and fleet management, ensuring workplace health and safety.
  • Implement quality control standards and manage repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare daily labor calls for fleet mechanics.
  • Review and prioritize DVIRs and repair work orders.
  • Prepare departmental production and billing paperwork.
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and minimize downtime.
  • Oversee DOT and OSHA compliance, ensuring appropriate training and safety programs for fleet mechanics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare initial accident reports and maintain well-kept operations equipment.
  • Ensure quality control of equipment and services, addressing equipment shortages for events cost-effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
