About The Position

The Fleet Administrator at the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) plays a crucial role in overseeing the Fleet Equipment Management Division and related maintenance operations. This position is part of the senior advisory staff within the Operations Division, responsible for ensuring the effective management and maintenance of the agency's fleet and heavy equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience in fleet management or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and budget management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and assess fleet needs and conditions effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with various stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance practices.
  • Experience with procurement processes in a governmental setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assess fleet needs and conditions annually in collaboration with the Fleet Management team.
  • Oversee the budget and procurement process for all rolling stock equipment, including inspections and configuration audits.
  • Manage the fleet vehicle accident and repair contract.
  • Monitor and record monthly mileage logs, repairs, and accident data for fleet vehicles.
  • Interact with agency heavy equipment maintenance shops and supervisors for vehicle and equipment repair and replacement.
