About The Position

The Flavor Technician I position involves following established procedures and guidelines to prepare flavor samples and participate in flavor evaluations and testing. This role supports effective creation and processes in alignment with business goals and EH&S policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology.
• Minimum 0-2 years of experience in a food applications lab or production.

Responsibilities

• Prepare flavors as requested for customer briefs, applications needs, technology performance assessment, QC standards, physical testing, etc.
• Prepare flavors using parr reactors, kettles, high shear mixers, blenders and other applicable equipment and instruments.
• Act as the main point of contact to provide timely flavor samples for other labs and functions.
• Maintain all required formula records and brief documentation in company database software (Athena, Atlas, Lot Number records, etc.).
• Maintain organized and updated stock of raw materials, ingredients, lab, and office supplies in the shared workspace.
• Maintain organized collection of flavors in the lab for immediate response to briefs and applications requests.
• Assist in setting up flavors for tasting, and for in lab taste panels and other requested situations.
• Participate in the evaluation of flavors in food products and provide flavor performance feedback.
