Flag Football Assistant Coach Fitchburg Public Schools believes deeply in the potential for every student to succeed and works tirelessly each day to create an anti-racist school environment that is built around high expectations, an inclusive and welcoming culture, and an expectation of excellence for all. Fitchburg Public Schools is currently working with DESE’s Statewide System of Support to plan and implement turnaround strategies at two (2) of its schools. The vision of each of the Fitchburg Public Schools is to provide learning experiences that engage all students in achieving high academic standards while developing intellectual rigor, creative interest, and social characteristics that prepare them for the challenges of living successfully and productively as citizens of this new century. The Varsity Assistant Coach must assume a major role in supporting the vision and direction of the program’s Head Coach in fostering cooperation and positive teamwork, exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship and fan involvement at games and special events and most importantly, assume a major role in assisting the development of our youth as future leaders. This job requires you to interact thoughtfully and respectfully with student-athletes, fellow coaches, staff, parents and the community. Positive communication strategies, organizational skills, and safety awareness are key requirements. The Varsity Assistant Coach reports to the program’s Head Coach and then the Director of Athletics. This position requires the coach to complete an employment application, background check, and all district, MIAA, and NFHS required trainings on an annual basis.
