The Clothing Clerk at the Orem Utah Temple plays a vital role in ensuring that patrons have a positive and uplifting experience during their visits. This position is responsible for laundering, mending, and caring for the clothing and linens used in the temple. The Clothing Clerk typically reports to the Clothing Supervisor and provides guidance and direction to volunteers and service missionaries working in the temple. The work schedule for this position is part-time, specifically from Tuesday to Saturday, 5 PM to 9 PM. In this role, the Clothing Clerk will operate commercial laundry equipment and prepare clothing and linens for use within the temple. This includes sorting, washing, drying, hanging, pressing, folding, and assembling items needed by patrons, workers, and others who enter the temple. The Clothing Clerk will also train service missionaries and volunteers in daily laundry operations, overseeing their work to ensure that laundry operations are prioritized and accomplished efficiently. Additionally, the Clothing Clerk will assist patrons by providing needed temple clothing in the proper sizes, ensuring that sufficient clothing is available for patrons. This position may also involve overseeing clothing rental operations. The Clothing Clerk is expected to perform daily preventative maintenance on laundry equipment, which includes routine cleaning of machinery, changing out washer chemicals, and spot cleaning clothing with appropriate cleaners. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.
