About The Position

The Fixed Plant RCM/CBM Technician at Newmont Mining is responsible for performing lubrication duties, oil sampling, vibration data collection, and inspections. This role involves assisting the Senior RCM Technician with technical evaluations, data gathering, and maintenance support, focusing on reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, or a related field, preferably in the mining industry.
• Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial equipment experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Basic math and science skills for reporting and analysis.
• Certification or training in RCM principles (e.g., Vibration, Lubrication, Thermal, UE).
• Familiarity with CBM/RCM principles and methodologies.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment and maintenance operations.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and safe handling practices.
• Basic computer skills (email, website, drives, and CMMS).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with reliability analysis techniques.
• Exposure to environmental state and compliance inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform lubrication duties and support oil sampling and vibration data collection.
• Assist Senior RCM Technician in technical evaluations and data gathering.
• Participate in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes.
• Recommend maintenance strategies based on RCM principles, including preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance.
• Prepare reports on equipment reliability, maintenance activities, and equipment condition.
• Attend training classes pertinent to RCM activities to expand skillset.
• Collaborate with the Asset Care & Reliability Supervisor and Maintenance Engineer to develop expertise.
• Continuously review and improve skills to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
