We are seeking an experienced Fixed Equipment Engineer to support the reliability, integrity, and safe operation of all stationary equipment across our specialty chemical manufacturing facility located in Pasadena, TX. This role is critical in driving mechanical integrity initiatives, supporting preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory codes and company standards. This position blends hands-on inspection responsibilities with engineering design, analysis, and problem-solving to improve equipment performance and longevity.

  • Develop, implement, and manage mechanical integrity programs for fixed equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, tanks, piping, heat exchangers).
  • Provide engineering expertise to support inspection findings, failure analysis, and equipment upgrades or repairs.
  • Conduct a root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to address failures or degradation in fixed equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards such as ASME, API (510, 570, 653), and NBIC.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, calculations, and specifications for repairs, replacements, and new installations.
  • Collaborate with inspection personnel, maintenance, operations, and project teams to identify and prioritize equipment issues.
  • Support turnaround planning and execution for fixed equipment inspection and repair scopes.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment history, drawings, specifications, and inspection reports.
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in a chemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of fixed equipment design, operation, degradation mechanisms, and failure modes.
  • Working knowledge of API 510, 570, and 653 standards; certification(s) preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with applicable mechanical integrity and inspection software systems (e.g., PCMS, Meridium) is a plus.
  • Experience working in or supporting PSM-regulated facilities preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
