About The Position

The Fixed Equipment Engineer, Projects provides leadership, technical expertise, and business perspective in all areas related to reï¬ning fixed equipment. This role will involve capital project execution, engineering, procurement, and construction. This role ensures projects are technically sound and that they achieve safety, reliability, and environmental objectives and are consistent with PSM management of change.

Requirements

Legally authorized to work in job posting country
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or equivalent
10 or more years of petrochemical or related industry experience
Experience with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
Experience with alterations, repair, & FFS (NBIC /API 579) of pressure vessels
Technical expertise in design, fabrication, and construction associated with fixed equipment
Ability to apply creativity and technical expertise to problem-solving while achieving broad business objectives
Personal discipline to balance short-term demands with long-term objectives
Ability to direct the activities and priorities of others through influence

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering
Willing and able to relocate to Houston, TX
Experience and understanding of plant maintenance, operating, and project practices
Experience working with EPC contractors
Experience with welding/welding engineering
Experience with the design and construction of API 650 tanks
Ability to develop and communicate clear and specific strategies and tactics

Responsibilities

Staying current and proficient with relevant ASME/API codes for the construction, modification, and repair of fixed equipment and piping.
Executing projects and ensuring conformance with Phillips 66 Required Standards, Recommended Engineering Practices, and relevant codes and industry standards.
Applying industry knowledge and experience to address new construction, modification, and repair of existing equipment.
Providing guidance for equipment fabrication inspection and testing plans.
Coordinating fixed equipment aspects of the MOC process.
Reviewing project design packages and providing design input to ensure that site requirements and preferences are met.
Perform Level 1 and Level 2 ï¬tness for service evaluations per API-579.
Perform bolted joint assessments for proper equipment makeup.
Review or perform piping stress modeling and analysis.
Promoting and assisting with the management and development of work processes, standards, best practices, and guidelines for efficient engineering design and construction.
Successfully managing competing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously.
Accountable for managing time to deliver on commitments.
Ensuring project scope and cost are controlled and change is managed.
