Cumulus Media | (Atlanta, GA) has an immediate hybrid-remote opening for a Fixed Asset Staff Accountant located in our corporate headquarters (Atlanta) and is responsible for supporting the Senior Accounting Director in carrying out the duties of the department. This position is also responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills, written and verbal as well as outstanding organizational and problem solving skills.

  • Create and track capital purchase requisitions ensuring they have clear descriptions, supporting documentation and correct approval chains
  • Create payable batches by processing invoices against purchase orders
  • Monitor and close out purchase orders in a timely manner
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Performance of their assigned duties to ensure an accurate, and timely, month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial close
  • Coordinate and execute all month-end close activities based on the close schedule
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, supporting workpapers, accruals/re-classes, and variance analysis
  • Respond to inquiries from Engineering, internal and external auditors, regarding purchase requisitions, purchase orders and capex payments
  • Support Senior Accounting Director with special projects and analysis
  • Manage workload and prioritize job tasks to meet deadlines
  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures
  • Comply with US GAAP, COSO, and SOX in concert with our internal controls
  • Interface with Engineering and IT in various markets
  • Other duties, as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 1-3 years accounting experience, with the month-end close processing experience preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented, with good time management skills.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information.
  • Able to work independently and manage workload - prioritizing job tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge/use of general ledger software helpful; experience with Great Plains and/or WideOrbit preferred.
  • Regular use of high-intermediate Excel functions (pivot tables, Vlookups, formulas/macros) preferred.
