The Welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components using various welding techniques and fitting skills. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints, follow safety protocols, and ensure high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and tools, along with a commitment to precision and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder fitter in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certification (American Welding Society)

Responsibilities

  • Prior knowledge of specific welding processes and techniques such as GMAW, FCAW, GTAW is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency reading and interpreting such items as: fabrication drawings, diagrams, sketches, work orders, welding symbols, etc.
  • Successfully complete Peerless initial and on-going job training programs in work functions, lean manufacturing and other topics as presented by the company.
  • Maintain compliance with Engineering Documentation Notes above the minimum threshold established, and from time to time revised by the company for the position.
  • Fit and assemble metal parts using hand tools, clamps, and welding equipment.
  • Operate cutting, grinding, burning, lifting, and finishing tools safely and efficiently.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together
  • Communicates to supervisor/lead and co-workers, and all sub-standard material, drawings, parts or other conditions that do not meet company quality standards; upholds only the highest of quality standards.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in accordance with guidelines established by the Company/OSHA.
  • Pursues safety initiatives in support of the Company’s vision of “zero accidents” by following protocol and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Allocates time efficiently and effectively keeping track of critical information, schedules and deadlines.
  • Understands and comply with all company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements.
  • Must wear all applicable safety equipment which includes, but is not limited to, safety glasses, gloves and steel-toed boots.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
