About The Position
We are currently seeking a skilled Fitter Welder I to join a company specializing in the manufacturing of industrial equipment. This Fitter Welder role involves layout, fit-up, and welding of structural and pressure-related components while following engineering drawings and quality standards.
Requirements
- Ability to pass a 3G MIG / Flux Core weld test
- Experience fitting and welding industrial equipment components
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Familiarity with grinders, clamps, and welding tools
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Responsibilities
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, and bolt components into position for welding
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
- Layout and fit nozzles, supports, and couplings per blueprint into shells
- Remove rough spots using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers
- Maintain a safe work environment and report defective tools or equipment
- Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures
