About The Position

Fitter Class 1 This position is located on-site in our Bayou La Batre, AL shipyard Our Ship Fitters are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include: Roles and Responsibilities: Read blueprints Minimal welding; must be able to tack weld Must be proficient in layout and cutting of steels and aluminum using necessary tools Read a tape measure and other measuring devices. Maintain dimensional accuracy and fairness of materials to be fitted. Operate equipment safely and comply with all safety standards Must be able to recognize fit up issues and relay to supervisor Qualifications / Skills / Experience: Possess a High School Diploma or GED 3 years of experience as a Ship Fitter Fundamental knowledge in a marine of manufacturing industry Excellent communication, math and problem-solving skills Must possess the basic tools required to perform shipfitters duties.
