About The Position

The Fitness Specialist position at Greenspring Village by Erickson Senior Living involves helping older adults maintain an active, strong, and connected lifestyle. This role focuses on leading engaging group fitness classes and designing individualized exercise programs that are enjoyable and accessible. The ideal candidate will bring energy, expertise, and a genuine passion for improving the health and well-being of residents, without the pressure of sales or quotas. Greenspring is a vibrant 60-acre continuing care retirement community in Springfield, Virginia, part of Erickson Senior Living, a large provider of senior living and health care. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year related work experience
  • Current CPR/First Aid certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in evaluating fitness programs for seniors is a plus.
  • Personal Training and/or Group Exercise Experience preferred
  • Water Aerobics is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments to evaluate residents' current health and functional abilities.
  • Design and implement individualized exercise programs incorporating flexibility, strength training, and cardiovascular conditioning.
  • Instruct and educate members on proper exercise techniques to ensure safety and maximize results.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of community-wide wellness programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fitness environment for all residents.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents and staff, motivating and encouraging active lifestyles.
  • Lead engaging group exercise classes tailored to varying ability levels.
  • Provide specialized training for clients with diverse medical conditions and cognitive impairments.
