SUMMARY:Oversee the fitness services and operations of the PCC Fitness Center. This includes: fitness classes, personal training, the maintenance of the fitness area and equipment, managing the day to day operations and ensuring the Members and Guests have an exceptional experience. This position also supervises the Fitness Center employee. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or (GED) required and have at least a minimum of one year related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have nationally recognized Yoga Certification, Pilates Certification, Group Fitness or Personal Training Certification. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Have a strong knowledge of all aspects of fitness including equipment usage, nutrition, fitness classes and safety practices. Oversee staff scheduling and employee payroll. Hiring and training of all employees Coaching and counselling of employees Computer software experience. Ability to lead and perform in a team based environment. Ability to manage time, oversee fitness classes and fitness operations. Be knowledgeable about the chemicals used in the work area. Promote fitness programs through presentations or resort events when requested. Teach a variety of yoga classes, Pilates classes or other fitness activities, as required. Monitor Member and Guest activities in the fitness area and offer guidance and assistance especially on safe and effective use of the equipment. Set-up and maintain the fitness area and equipment according to standard operating procedures, including but not limited to linen usage, sanitation and safety. Ensure that all equipment is in proper working order. Respond to guest requests using proper protocol. Maintain knowledge of hours of operations and services of the Fitness Center as well as PCC operations. Current CPR and First Aid Certification required, or become certified within 60 days of hire. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises Fitness Center employees. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
