About The Position

The Fitness Specialist/Group Fitness Instructor at BAYADA Home Health Care is responsible for leading exercise classes tailored for residents in Senior Living Communities. This role focuses on enhancing the fitness levels of seniors through structured group classes, ensuring a supportive and engaging environment. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to the Silver Sneaker format, with an emphasis on developing fitness programs that cater to the unique needs of the senior population.

Requirements

• Silver Sneaker Certification required or willingness to obtain certification.
• Certification as a Fitness Instructor through an accredited national exercise/fitness organization (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, ACE, IDEA, SFA).
• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Fitness Specialist, preferably in a senior services setting.
• Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduled group exercise classes for residents of Senior Living Communities.
• Develop fitness classes designed to promote positive fitness levels for seniors.
• Teach flexibility, cardio, strength/power, balancing, and standing exercises.
