The Fitness Program Graduate Student Assistant will provide leadership in the areas of group fitness, personal training, and fitness attendants for the Department of University Recreation and Wellness Job Description Key Responsibilities: Work directly with the Assistant Director of Fitness to develop and manage all daily aspects of both programs – Group Fitness and Fitness Attendants. Assist in coordinating monthly meetings which include personal and professional development as well as continuing education for staff. Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of group fitness and fitness attendant staff. Teach at least one group fitness class weekly. Group Fitness: Manager Group Fitness registration via Fusion. Assist in developing the group fitness schedule each semester. Facilitate new instructor trainings and oversee semesterly instruction evaluations. Collaborate with appropriate on-campus partners to provide effective, diverse, and holistic fitness/wellness programming. Oversee EagleFit30 challenge including marketing, recruitment, and retention. Oversee When to Work instructor scheduling and management. Plan, program, and oversee GF events: FitCraze, Sprint to the Finish Fest, etc. Fitness Attendants: Support Fitness Facilities Program Assistant in their role. Facilitate Orange Drills for FA staff. Assist in scheduling staff and time off approval as needed. Oversee monthly meetings and staff development. Must be able to work nights and weekends. Assist with developing, enforcing, and evaluating program policies and procedures. Attend weekly meetings with Fitness Team to support program operations. Attend monthly University Recreation & Wellness professional staff meetings and Program Meetings. Assist with University Recreation & Wellness signature events (dates provided upon hire). Serves on one University Recreation & Wellness department committee. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of program administration. Other Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
