Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in exercise science/exercise physiology OR licensed PT, PTA, OR related field OR equivalent experience in the industry required (Minimum 3 years)
  • Current ACSM Certification or current NCCA-accredited, health/fitness-related certifications (e.g., ACE, NCSF, NSCA, AFAA, Cooper Institute)
  • CPR-AED certification required within 30 days of hire date

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in senior fitness/strength training preferred
  • 2 years management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Organize and implement progressive and safe exercise programs for individuals and groups; plan physical activity events; instructs most individual and group exercise programs; and monitors results
  • Oversee operations of fitness and pool areas, maintains the fitness area including equipment service contracts, routine cleaning and equipment maintenance, daily records for environmental conditions and risk management of pools and exercise areas
  • Partner with other health-related staff at the community to provide a consistent message of health and to assist with resident transitions from one aspect of health services to another.
  • Actively supervises all Fitness staff to ensure safety, compliance and updated certifications.
