About The Position

The Fitness Manager is responsible for assisting with overseeing the daily operations of the fitness center, ensuring the delivery of professional, high-quality, and safe health and fitness services to all members. As the club's functional "fitness expert," this role is responsible for helping develop innovative fitness programs, while driving revenue from personal training, group classes, and other fitness-related services. The Fitness Manager supports supervising staff, enhancing member engagement, and maintaining a welcoming, high-energy environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a fitness-related role, such as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, or fitness coordinator.
  • A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in the fitness operations field.
  • Current certifications: ACSM, NASM, ACE, PTA Global, NFPT, ISSA, CSCS or NSCA.

  • Bachelor's degree in health-related.
  • Experience in organizing and overseeing multiple fitness programs and activities simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of fitness program development and execution, including personal training, group classes, and wellness initiatives.
  • Proven experience delivering excellent customer service in a fitness or health club environment.
  • Ability to engage with members, assess their fitness needs, and create a welcoming, supportive atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Sports Club Director/Fitness Director to develop and execute quarterly strategic sales plans.
  • Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual fitness revenue goals set by the company.
  • Optimize sales volume and staff performance across all fitness-related departments; ensure proper tracking of hours, FitStarts, and new clients on the Leaderboard.
  • Assist with designing, implementing, and assessing fitness programs tailored to the needs and interests of members.
  • Help lead and inspire the fitness team to meet or exceed budgeted sales targets.
  • Support the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process for personal fitness and Pilates trainers.
  • Ensure all staff comply with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Promote outstanding customer service by fostering a culture of continuous improvement through staff training, incentive programs, and ongoing education.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Invited Service Standards and ensure these are upheld through regular staff training and daily practice.
  • Support the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the fitness center, ensuring all equipment is stocked and in proper working order.
  • Report any equipment maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
  • Help supervise day-to-day fitness operations, including member service, communication, marketing, staffing, training, staff development, and supervision.
  • Adhere to Invited's standard operating procedures and guidelines for all aspects of fitness staff management.
  • Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Represent the company's management team by supporting and enforcing policies while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
  • Promote and follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
  • Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
  • Support the overall efficiency of the team by collaborating and contributing to the club's goals.
